Dating apps may be part of the problem in syphilis rise
It looks like the video in my last post in this thread got deleted. Who knows why?!! Here's another video on more or less the same topic.

Although there may be a correlation between the rise of dating apps and the increased STD rate, I think other things are likely to correlate equally well. My understanding is that the percent of uncircumsized men in the USA is at an all-time high. That might be the real issue. Extra folds of skin are perfect places for germs to flourish. Nothing against uncircumsized men, but it stands to reason.

Genetic Matchmaking
Who knew that genetic science would discover something as odd as this? Obviously there's more to romance than smell, BUT it does seem to play a role in determining who we are attracted to and who we stick with over the long haul.
Genetic matchmaking is the idea of matching couples for romantic relationships based on their biological compatibility. The initial idea was conceptualized by Claus Wedekind through his famous "sweaty t-shirt" experiment. Males were asked to wear T-shirts for two consecutive nights, and then females were asked to smell the T-shirts and rate the body odors for attractiveness. Human body odor has been associated with the human leukocyte antigens (HLA) genomic region. They discovered that females were attracted to men who had dissimilar HLA alleles from them.

This video could have been put elsewhere, but the dating website eastmeeteast.com is promoted and so I put it here. Interesting discussion of what some call Yellow Fever.

Online hackers steal images and identities for romance scams
Lots of scams happening on Facebook. Facebook is trying to do something about it, but they don't seem to be able to put much of a dent into the problem.
