There was a headline about Alex Jones having to pay almost a billion dollars as the result of some things he said about Sandy Hook. I think that's a little extreme. Alex Jones is a conspiracy theory nutjob and he said some things which were a little bit extreme, but making him pay that much for saying some mean things seems grotesquely disproportionate to what he actually did and it's likely to stifle free speech. Hopefully the court decision gets overturned and we wind up with some sanity on this issue. Extreme reactions to extremists will only make things more extreme.
