When it comes to sex cases our legal system needs to be massively streamlined. Way too much money is wasted on these cases! Accusers should be required to file in a timely fashion and the standard of proof should be very high. Most cases should be dismissed due to lack of evidence. Same thing whether we're talking criminal or civil cases.

CrustyOldFart: Both the republicans or the democrats will use sexual accusations as a smear against their opponents. We've seen the democrats do it more recently, but you don't have to go back too many years to see the republicans doing the same thing. Both parties are corrupt and hypocritical, but at this time the democrats do seem a little more extreme and unreasonable.

Uber: Thousands of passengers sexually assaulted
A couple friends and I just watched this one. None of us are buying this. At least 75% of these are false accusations!

defcon: And there's always what people sometimes call REVOKED CONSENT. A female consents to sexual activity at night and the next morning she regrets it and starts making all sorts of accusations. Obviously this would just be one type of false accusation, basically the kind of thing that Kobe Bryant went through. Very common, but that's what you get when you have lawyers and law enforcement practically recruting women to make false accusations. But of course, they're all so brave....

New suit against Diocese of San Diego claims abuse by priest
So if the church is ENCOURAGING people to file claims and there's a victim compensation fund intended to provide payoffs for allegations about things which SUPPOSEDLY happened decades ago, then what's to stop people from filing false claims? And don't give me any BS about people not doing that kind of thing. I'd be willing to bet that ninety percent of the claims filed are false!

Man convicted for sexual assault
This is surprising. Usually when minorities commit crimes like this the press ignores them. Thousands of clear cut cases like this one are committed by blacks and Hispanics every year, but seldom do they make the news. It's only when a white guy is ACCUSED of committing less severe crimes that we hear about it and then months later when the white guy proves his innocence there is no news story. Possibly the press is giving up on the old agenda of making whites look bad while ignoring the wrongdoings of minorities.

recluse: Sounds like you exaggerate a bit, but essentially you are correct. Across the board, regardless of the type of sex crime we're talking about, Hispanics and blacks offend at a much greater rate than do whites. Asians offend at an even lower rate than whites. The news media has focused on whites for a number of reasons and it's impossible to deny that there is an agenda to demonize whites and to pretend that those who commit the most crimes are innocent. It's sort of the news media's version of affirmative action, but it's obviously a big lie. Then again distorting reality is what the news media does best!

Underage sex is one of those things that doesn't make my top twenty list of social problems and so I'm not really impressed by this. None of this lowers my respect and admiration for Bowie or Page even a tiny bit. Both supposedly had sex with a fourteen-year-old girl, but not at the same time. That would be gross!
“He walked me through his bedroom and into the bathroom, where he dropped his kimono. He got into the tub, already filled with water, and asked me to wash him. Of course I did. Then he escorted me into the bedroom, gently took off my clothes, and de-virginized me.”

There's also this about Don Henley:
Eagles drummer and vocalist Don Henley was arrested in 1980 in Los Angeles and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after paramedics were called to his home to save a naked 16-year-old girl who was overdosing on cocaine and Quaaludes.

Some people get their panties all tied up in knots over this thing, but anyone who has time to obsess over something as insignificant as this truly needs to get a life!
https://www.thedailybeast.com/david-bowie-and-rock-n-rolls-statutory-rape-problem

There's lots of other examples. As I recall both Roman Polanski (movie director) and Bill Wyman (bassist for Rolling Stones) had sexual relations with thirteen-year-old girls. The authorities call it statutory rape, but that's not a very accurate label. It's not rape at all when a willing participant is involved. It may be unlawful intercourse with a minor, but rape it is not. Americans need to stop obsessing over this kind of thing and worry about real crime for a change.
