Is the internet creating a culture of hate in the US?
Typical media distortion and sensationalism. Two idiots insist that the internet is creating a culture of hate and one guy presents a realistic analysis and gets accused of minimalizing the problem. Anonymity is incredibly empowering and allows people to express opinions which otherwise don't get expressed. It's liberating, but threatening to big media since big media seeks to control public opinion. Trolls don't destroy people. People who take them seriously allow themselves to be destroyed. It's a case of sticks and stones and nothing more.

PACKARD GOOSE: The whole song is relevant when taken as a whole, but the part beginning at 2:28 and ending with the words shared above is probably the most pertinent.

CULTURE OF HATE: Nice call mrgreen. The media and big corporations are working hard to make everything we do on the internet identifiable. They want to be able to track everything everybody does. It's all about power and control and eliminating information that contradicts their propaganda.

Fake news floods Facebook
Facebook should stay out of censoring what may or may not be "fake news." Some popular news stories might be weak on facts. Some might be meant to deliberately mislead. Some might be news parodies. The best thing is to expect readers to be skeptical of anything they hear and to take all news with a grain of salt. Allow for the free flow of ideas and expect readers to develop the ability to tell the difference between accurate info and bologna!

Democrats Call For Banning InfoWars
Alex Jones ranting in a semi-coherent manner as usual, but he makes a couple reasonably good points along the way. With Alex Jones it's a matter of if you throw out enough random bullshit, some of it is bound to stick and resonate with like-minded conspiracy theory nutjobs.

Ron Paul reveals list of alleged ‘fake news’ journalists
The worst fake news outlets are major media entities who collude with corporations, the government, or specific candidates such as CNN or VICE, etc.

Corporate Media Is Just As Dangerous As Fake News Sites
This guy makes some good points, especially about the corporate media. When it comes to fake news, no one can compete with the corporate media!
