‘Russia made enemy by US media & democrats' – analyst on Google 'de-ranking' of RT
Too much competition for domestic news networks and so they're forcing Google to derank them. What ever happened to the free market or does that only apply when it works in their favor? When elected officials abuse their power to create conditions which favor corporate news outlets, it becomes obvious that there is collusion between the elected officials and corporate entities.

Information control shapes public opinion. The free flow of information is the most democratic approach, but our leaders don't like that philosophy since it risks the possibility of them losing power and influence. However, in a truly free society, there would be a hands off approach taken to the free flow of information. Therefore... need I say more?

One thing about free-flowing information. It must be complete and factual. Free flowing information that is BS is diarrhea.

Sure, but better for each individual to figure out for himself what is true and what is fake than to rely on corporate media to decide what we will be allowed to hear. Unfiltered free-flowing information is confusing since there are lots of contradictory stories to sort out, some of them completely untrue. But better to hear it all than to only hear some of it as the result of someone else deciding what is fit to be heard.

Propaganda doesn't convince anyone (other than the functionally-retarded) when there are no restrictions on the flow of information. The trick to getting people to believe propaganda is the proper curation of the information they have access to. The curators filter out what they don't want us to know and I think CrustyOldFart's point is that such filtering disables true democracy. Extending the discussion to include algorithms which demote links which lead to info which undermines propaganda messages is also a good idea.

Putin answers question if he’s going to run for president in 2018
Plenty of Putin and Russia bashing going on in the corporate media, but in Russia he has an 80% approval rating. I don't think any president in the last fifty years here in the USA has an approval rating above 60 percent.

Looks like the USA will have to deal with Russia at least until 2024. The chances of Putin not being re-elected are pretty slim. Putin has done a great job of serving the interests of the Russian people. If our leaders could do as good a job at serving our interests, the USA would once again be a great country instead of a lame bully terrorizing the rest of the world while failing to look after the welfare of its citizens.

Putin Slams Arrogant ABC Presstitute on Trump - Russia Connection
Can we just get it over with already and elect Putin PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD? He seems to be the only politician I've seen for years who has a clear understanding of what's really going on!

DISCLAIMER: I'm mostly joking, but not entirely.

Socialist dreams made reality? Communists name farm mogul as 2018 presidential pick
The Communist Party has not been successful for decades in Russia. They hope to turn that around in 2018.
