Offroad TURBO Tractor :4x4:
I'm slightly surprised that some sort of Jeep/Tractor hybrid hasn't been created. Seem like you'd have all the clearance you could wish for!

Kia Soul goes for a hike with Trail’ster concept :roll2:
Unless they get serious with some real tires, this thing is next to worthless offroad!

When car manufacturers design cars like the Kia Trail'ster, it's hard to tell who they think would want their car. That thing wouldn't be worth much out here. Those tiny tires are a joke! If only they'd make a consumer version of the offroad TURBO tractor. Now that's an offroad vehicle that will get you places!!!

Commute to work on a one-wheeled scooter
Could this be scaled up to a full-sized vehicle? A design based on this concept might be interesting to experiment with anyways.

deathvalleyjake: That might work for a small off-road vehicle. The distribution of the payload is a little odd, but I could see how that design might get you over a lot of obstacles that can't be negotiated with a normal vehicle with four wheels. There might be some tricky design issues that would need to be tackled, but it would be interesting to experiment with scaling it up.

Land Rover Heritage Driving Experiences: Drive A Classic Off-Road Vehicle
Despite the dramatic music, it's not all that impressive. I'll take a raised Wrangler any day!

Company awarded $6.75 billion to replace humvee
There probably won't be a civilian version of this one, but maybe some design ideas will be adopted in civilian off-road vehicles.
The U.S. Army has awarded Oshkosh Defense a massive contract to replace the Humvee with its Join Light Tactical Vehicle.
