The Future of Cerro Gordo Is In Danger...
Strip mining devastates the land. So many historical sites would be destroyed forever. This cannot be allowed.

The rains this summer washed out the road up to Cerro Gordo twice. After the first big rain the county came in and graded the road, but then another storm came along and undid all their work. The owner of the ghost town was working hard to fix the road last I heard. I don't know if Inyo County plans on fixing the road twice in one summer or not. Sometimes when it rains, it pours!
