"We Sucked Each Others' D*cks" -- Mom Reads Sexually Explicit School Library Book to Board
Describing a penis as a salamander is a little odd. It's not surprising that a child was molested at a church event. Although I wouldn't say that molestation is a rampant problem, I would say that it is a social issue and that there are those who engage in such activity and that such things are worthy of discussion and that high school students are old enough to consider and engage in discussions about these issues. A book like this provides an example which can be discussed and this helps students to understand the dynamics of these situations, assuming of course that the portrayal in the book is realistic to begin with.

dilbert: Yes, extremely hilarious and no doubt there are some mentally deficient people out there who would claim that it is offensive. They might even claim that it is somehow inappropriate for or harmful to minors. I'd be willing to bet that more than a few parents in Trona and Ridgecrest have read the book to their very young children and that the children were delighted by the saucy language! I'm sure there are some politically correct and religiously retarded people out there who would object to "exposing" children to such rude language, but "fuck" those people! People who conflate rude or offensive with inappropriate or harmful are idiots! The book might be considered "harmful" if it interferes with a religious nutjob's desire to brainwash children into accepting their narrow-minded beliefs, but it is not harmful to the children at all. There's a difference between interfering with someone's ideological agenda and actually harming individual people (including children). Many people fail to realize this very simple and basic concept. Just the same it would be inappropriate to read the book to a classroom of first graders since it might offend the sensibilities of their parents and this could lead to conflict within the home, but that's not quite the same as the book being inherently harmful. People need to be clear about the terms they use and how concepts and language are correlated. Clear communication leads to clear understanding, which of course interferes with some people's desire to live in a fantasy world, but that's another issue altogether!

rainbow: I have little doubt that more than a few parents have read it to their very young and not so young children. It's clearly not intended for children, but even young children (I'm thinking seven or eight and up) will probably enjoy the humor, especially if they have younger siblings. BTW, this book is a popular baby shower gift, just in case you're trying to think of something to give at that kind of a party.

Gutfeld: Why is this happening?
Woke propaganda aimed at kids? Do kids really care about the sexual orientation of a comic book hero? Who do they make comic books for anyways?
