His brother's on the board and most of the others on the board are close family friends. Despite his incompetence (he's made some bone-headed blunders which have cost the district well over $100K) he's getting paid a ridiculously high salary. Talk about doing favors for friends and family! And then there's the pathetic excuse for a superintendent who is like a pet dog just waiting to please its master (the school board). It's funny in a way that the school board member who used to be a school bus driver refers to him as her boy.

That sounds racist, but coming from that lady I'm not surprised at all. That lady has done some pretty outrageous things over the years. I should probably make a list sometime, but the story that comes to mind in regards to this is something a friend told me years ago about her complaining about what she called the "beaner brigade" back when we were in high school. There was a group of kids she didn't like and that's just how she talked about them. The lady has issues to put it quite bluntly.

Nepotism, racism, incompetency, hypocrisy. It doesn't get much worse!

It seems what Tucker Carlson said about Victoria Nuland and Joe Biden applies to the leadership in Trona: "The more discredited they are, the more self-confident they become. They see every failure as evidence that their talents are more desperately needed than ever. What is this? Well, it's called hubris. Hubris is (a) delusion.... Hubris is a species of mental illness." (He says this near the end of the video.)

Trona School Board Does Favors For Friends And Family
Three of the highest paid employees in the district are related to school board members:
1) Benadom - Mother of tech guy who is grossly overpaid. Staff members say the guy knows next to nothing, but he gets a big paycheck anyways.
2) McCullar - Brother of head of maintenance. His salary is massively inflated. Must be nice to have a brother on the school board.
3) McCullar - Wife of head of maintenance. Salary way too high compared to past individuals who did the same job.
Special Friends:
K-12 Coordinator - Described by many staff members as braindead, bossy, and clueless, the lady doesn't even have a valid teaching credential.
Superintendent - More like stupid-intendent. The guy has a doctorate, but he is a complete ignoramous who can barely speak a coherent sentence. Based on his lisp I can guess what he had to do to get his doctorate!
Suck Ups:
I won't name any names, but one bald PE teacher has a hard time resisting any chance he has to suck up to the superintendent or the school board. He must be hoping for a bonus of some kind. Also the K-12 Coordinator has a couple special friends who are not worth much.

All this has been discussed openly between staff members and I happen to know several of them and they're sick and tired of the BS going on at the school!

The smaller Trona gets the more obvious the nepotism becomes. It's hard to hide the corruption and ultimately karma is a bitch!

It sounds like the idiots in charge have been caught with their pants down. Problem is they're too stupid to be embarrassed!

Congratulations certain Trona employees on meeting a new low. Attending a party with underage drinking students with no repercussions because if you are in the certain “group”, admin does nothing. Even a fight broke out, students and adults involved. Again, adult employees.

When you are employed by a school, Ed code says you are held to a higher standard.

Only held accountable in Trona if you are not in the favorable group.

Coyote: Here's the way I see it.
There are many ways of categorizing employees, but here's one way of grouping them:
1) Insiders - Those who run things or who are close allies of those in charge.
2) Useful Idiots - Those who will never have much influence, but who are productive and non-threatening to insiders.
3) Fillers - Non-threatening and not terribly good at their jobs, but better than not having someone to fill the position.
4) Challengers - Those who pose some kind of threat to those in power or who are generally critical of established organizational norms.
Coyote: The infractions you describe can be used by leadership in different ways depending on which group we're talking about. Those in group 1 are given a free pass unless the infraction is sufficiently serious, in which case they will be given a raise and publicly complimented for working so hard and being exceptional in some way. With groups 2 and 3, the infractions can be held over their heads as a way to make them work harder, to be more compliant, or to publicly show enthusiastic support for leadership. As for group 4, leadership is always looking for a way to punish these people or possibly fire them and any small excuse can be construed to be more serious than is actually the case.

Regarding the K-12 Coordinator:
tronagirl wrote:Everything I've heard indicates that the majority of people working at the school are convinced that she's psychologically unfit to work with children of any age and that she is a control freak who wants to tell everyone what to do. People I've talked to directly roll their eyes and say that she's a disaster along with the incompetent superintendent and the nepotistic school board.

Combine that with the lady practically molesting children in public and you've got some kind of psychopath working at the school! Many people observed her practically humping a little blond boy a while back. If she brazenly does this sort of thing where people can easily see her, just think of what she's doing in private behind closed doors. People say she has a select group of kids who frequently visit here during lunch and recess. No telling what kind of grooming behavior is going on there and she has ingratiated herself with several parents. She's always being excessively nice to certain people. It's just plain sickening!

The K12 coordinator lady has people complaining. There are lots of rumors, but some seem like gossip while others seem likely to be true.
1) Overly animated, making people think she takes some kind of psych meds
2) Hugs students too much and may even pressure them to hug her
3) Doesn't have a credential to teach and that's why she was given the coordinator position since she's not qualified to teach
4) Threatened multiple male staff members with reporting them for sexual harassment
5) Has special students she spends too much time with and that she hunts them down when they don't voluntarily visit her
6) Receives special treatment from board members, but no one can figure out why they put up with her

More families are pulling their kids out of the school.
Tjusd has purchased yet another online teacher replacement program.
Recent notifications from school about state testing- sounds like they are concerned about parents opting their students out of testing again this year.
Why has providing a quality education become difficult in Trona recently? Hmmm
Incompetent Administration
Delusional school board members
Unqualified teachers
Lots of lawsuits
