Here's my message to those people who are saying that the tests are culturally biased: The 1960s just called and they want their lame excuses back! LOL

Children of the digital age struggling to read analog clocks
Keep analog clocks relevant by including them in your homes. Keep them in prominent public places. It's a good skill for kids to learn. Understanding different ways to represent the same idea is good for the mind.

Since when did reading an analog clock become a skill? My how far we have fallen. Right now there are thousands of Chinese watching "Duck Dynasty" saying: "We need to bomb those idiots"!

Appleā€™s Devices Lose Luster in American Classrooms
Apple has lost relevance to the educational market. Ten years ago they made sense, but new developments have left them in the dust.
Of the 12.6 million mobile devices shipped to primary and secondary schools in the United States in 2016, Chromebooks accounted for 58 percent of the market, up from 50 percent in 2015, according to the report. School shipments of iPads and Mac laptops fell to 19 percent, from about 25 percent, over the same period. Microsoft Windows laptops and tablets remained relatively stable at about 22 percent.

surfsteve: Analog clocks racist? LOL I'm sure from the point of view of someone trying to make the case that a test is culturally biased that such a statement would be seen as valid. It's amazing how the minds of desperate people can twist things to support their agenda.

Hesperia Unified names Olney as new superintendent
Dave Olney was a former superintendent here in Trona and as of July 1st he becomes superintendent in Hesperia. I did a quick search and the enrollment in Hesperia is 23,528 students.
Olney has served HUSD for more than 18 years as a teacher and principal before serving in the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. After three years as superintendent of Trona Joint Unified School District, he returned to HUSD in 2015 as Assistant Superintendent of Innovative Technology and Communication, and was recently appointed as the Deputy Superintendent.

More schools switching to 4-day weeks: Good or bad idea?
Unless the number of weeks that kids attend school per year is increased, this is a really bad idea. Lengthening the day is not a good idea. Also the student work week should match the parent work week. Otherwise parents are going to have to pay for more daycare.
