TJUSD Board Meeting - February 18, 2021

Postby cactuspete » Fri Feb 19, 2021 8:08 am

wildrose talked me into covering the school board meeting this week. Fortunately the video is only a little over twenty minutes long and so there's not a lot to report.

1) Student Reports - Mostly just announcing the dates of various social events for the benefit of the board members. Homecoming has not yet happened for this school year and the sweetheart event will be after the prom.
2) Superintendent - Not much to say of any consequence.
3) Principal - Talked about high school accreditation and the work being done to satisfy the committee which evaluates the high school.
4) School Safety Plan - Details of plan explained. It covers a number of categories including physical safety, online safety, and things like harassment. One board member referred to the document as long and comprehensive.
5) Local SELPA plan - Pertains to special education.
NEXT REGULAR BOARD MEETING: March 18th, 2021

How Prozac Turned Depression Medication into a Cultural Phenomenon
Too much enthusiasm is often a sign that a person is using Prozac (or similar drugs). These drugs are sometimes prescribed to children as young as eight, but just as common is the phenomenon of children grabbing pills from their parents' medicine cabinet. Being overly enthusiastic results in overuse of words like fantastic, great, magnificent, and also voice inflection is an indication of an overly bubbly attitude. In fact, non-medicated people often find this behavior to be quite annoying, whereas those under the influence barely notice it.

Anti-Depressants Are So Not A Big Deal - feat. Michael Hyatt - "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"
Sometimes groups of people wind up all taking anti-depressants. Their overly-enthusiastic behavior is obvious to outsiders, but employers often prefer their employees to be medicated. In fact, one of the most under-reported types of harassment is when employers suggest that an employee consider Prozac or similar pharmaceutical. People on these drugs are like sheep and very susceptible to groupthink. Employers love that! Parents sometimes medicate their children for the same reason. It's a national health crisis, but people in charge of investigating that sort of thing are too medicated to care!

I'll leave it to others to rebuke him for his obviously stupid behavior.

Okay, I'll take you up on that offer. People have died in Trona and Ridgecrest of COVID and this complete moron can't even follow basic safety protocols? What a complete and utter idiot! I've heard that someone on the school staff died this week. Judging by this guy's lack of concern and common decency, it would appear that he set the stage for that death and should be held accountable!

What an arrogant fool! The quotes from wildrose and tronagirl are from the January board meeting thread. It seems that this schmuck still hasn't learned anything. Where does the school find such stupid people? No wonder many parents are afraid to send their kids to school. If this idiot is the guy in charge of running things, then no one is safe!

shotgunmary: Your assemssment seems very reasonable. It would be a huge benefit to the school if they would hire people who are not incompetent fools!

Educator Exodus: COVID Worsens Teacher Shortage
Teaching online is not easy. Teaching in person is too risky. Unsupportive parents can only think of themselves and are unreasonably critical. Not all parents are unsupportive, but there are many who miss the free babysitting and don't value teachers as educators.

Sometimes a problem is right out in the open for all to see and yet it is still ignored. Then again if a person is afflicted with the same problem it might seem normal to that person.

If you're aware of unsafe conditions at the school report it here.

You can remain completely anonymous. Do everyone a favor and report violations of health guidelines. The school has already managed to kill one employee and spread the virus to dozens of others through their carelessness and lack of proper concern. You can FILE A COMPLAINT to help hold them accountable.

wabbit: You're absolutely right! I've heard some messed up stories about what's being allowed at the elementary school. If teachers and other staff are setting a bad example, how the hell are the kids supposed to be expected to follow the health guidelines?
