There were 48 views of this meeting when I watched it.
1) DELETED AGENDA ITEMS: Nine agenda items were deleted. They all had to do with coaching positions. Usually this indicates that there were one or two coaches being recommended that the board objects to, but to hide the identity of the unwanted coach(es) they just table all similar items.
2) SUPT. REPORT - A couple upcoming events mentioned including a vaccination event to be held in the gym.
3) MAINTENANCE REPORT - Updates on construction projects.
4) PRINCIPAL REPORT - Upcoming events, testing, etc.
5) HIRED POSITIONS - Summer school staff, varsity football coach, class advisors, ASB advisor (hired retroactively), Mathletes sponsor, 6th grade science camp.
6) EXTENDED LEARNING - Grant funding received for program to cover extended learning opportunities during the summer and next school year. There are lots of options available for how to use the money. The idea is to increase student performance by adding new programs or enhancing existing programs. There was a lot of discussion regarding a reading program to be implemented at the elementary where a teacher and a few paraprofessionals visit classrooms and work intensively with small groups.
7) Approval of agreement with teachers' union regarding COVID provisions.
8) TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS - Money being moved from general fund to other funding categories.
9) NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION - Board must approve the completion of work before payment can be processed. Hopefully costs will be reimbursed by the state, but the district must first pay and then hope for reimbursement.
10) FUND 40 - Special fund for new high school construction. A check for over $3M will be deposited into that fund. This is money received specifically to help with new construction.
11) RETIRED TEACHER - hired as consultant. Will help with WASC documentation process, mainly as a proofreader.
