"We Sucked Each Others' D*cks" -- Mom Reads Sexually Explicit School Library Book to Board
Describing a penis as a salamander is a little odd. It's not surprising that a child was molested at a church event. Although I wouldn't say that molestation is a rampant problem, I would say that it is a social issue and that there are those who engage in such activity and that such things are worthy of discussion and that high school students are old enough to consider and engage in discussions about these issues. A book like this provides an example which can be discussed and this helps students to understand the dynamics of these situations, assuming of course that the portrayal in the book is realistic to begin with.

dilbert: Yes, extremely hilarious and no doubt there are some mentally deficient people out there who would claim that it is offensive. They might even claim that it is somehow inappropriate for or harmful to minors. I'd be willing to bet that more than a few parents in Trona and Ridgecrest have read the book to their very young children and that the children were delighted by the saucy language! I'm sure there are some politically correct and religiously retarded people out there who would object to "exposing" children to such rude language, but "fuck" those people! People who conflate rude or offensive with inappropriate or harmful are idiots! The book might be considered "harmful" if it interferes with a religious nutjob's desire to brainwash children into accepting their narrow-minded beliefs, but it is not harmful to the children at all. There's a difference between interfering with someone's ideological agenda and actually harming individual people (including children). Many people fail to realize this very simple and basic concept. Just the same it would be inappropriate to read the book to a classroom of first graders since it might offend the sensibilities of their parents and this could lead to conflict within the home, but that's not quite the same as the book being inherently harmful. People need to be clear about the terms they use and how concepts and language are correlated. Clear communication leads to clear understanding, which of course interferes with some people's desire to live in a fantasy world, but that's another issue altogether!

rainbow: I have little doubt that more than a few parents have read it to their very young and not so young children. It's clearly not intended for children, but even young children (I'm thinking seven or eight and up) will probably enjoy the humor, especially if they have younger siblings. BTW, this book is a popular baby shower gift, just in case you're trying to think of something to give at that kind of a party.

Gutfeld: Why is this happening?
Woke propaganda aimed at kids? Do kids really care about the sexual orientation of a comic book hero? Who do they make comic books for anyways?

Mom Blasts School Board for PORN Book in Elementary School!
I find it hard to believe that such an extremely sexually explicit book would be in an elementary school library. I wouldn't even allow it in a high school library. I don't find the content shocking or harmful, just not appropriate for children. It's not like the books will harm the kids, it's just that there's a time and place for everything and there's no need for this type of thing in a public school environment. Now if parents want to provide their children with books like this, I say go for it, but schools should not be making material like this available.

Texas Just BANNED These "Uncomfortable" Books
Extremists of both the liberal and the conservative kind want to ban books they don't like. Students should have access to controversial books in public school libraries, especially at the high school level. Students need to think about and discuss controversial or "uncomfortable" issues in an open and honest way which considers multiple viewpoints on these issues. Students should not be expected to agree or disagree with any particular viewpoint, but familiarity with a multitude of viewpoints on a long list of issues is fundamental to developing social awareness and intellectual integrity.

“Johnny the Walrus” Read Along with Matt Walsh!
This seems to be Matt Walsh's reaction to "drag queen story hour." The children are probably oblivious to the political message and they indicate that the reference to the boy's feet being cut off is frightening. The salient point here is that some people would insist that Walsh's book is inappropriate and even harmful to children while others would applaud his efforts. Attitudes towards social issues are very diverse and as such:
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.” Or so said the fifteenth-century monk and poet, John Lydgate.

Then again, nowadays it's more a matter of offending people as opposed to pleasing them given the current climate where snowflakes representing diverse political points of view are overly abundant and quite vocal and ridiculously eager to complain over the tiniest little thing!

BTW, here's the comment I left to the video:
blackturtleshow wrote:That zoo keeper looks an awful lot like Matt Walsh! I'm glad at the beginning of this video Matt didn't ask if any of the boys like to pretend to be girls by wearing dresses or if any of the girls like to pretend being witches by riding around on brooms. BTW, I wonder if the Beatles song "I Am The Walrus" inspired Matt to write this book.

blackturtle.us: There's no shortage of people ready to be offended at the drop of a hat. We live in what some people call an OUTRAGE CULTURE. If people can be fired for simply expressing an unpopular point of view how can we say that we live in a true democracy? Freedom of expression is the backbone of a free society, but if people are coerced into silence by CANCEL CULTURE, then how can we claim to be a democratic society? I'm effing sick and tired of people finding the sorriest stupid little excuse to be outraged over. People who are outraged just need to STFU!

Nine times out of ten outrage is unjustified and based on some sort of distortion. In fact, it's even been said that you can't have outrage without a little bit of distortion, but to those who are addicted to outrage, that is a small price to pay!
