I Review Native Plants for a Xeric Colorado Rock Garden
My favorite plant of the bunch is wine cups (Callirhoe involucrata).

10 Perfect Plants for a Rock Garden
The geranium is especially lovely. It's supposed to do well in zones 4 thru 9 and tolerates alkaline or acid soil.

A Beautiful Prairie Flower for Drought Tolerant Gardens
I'd like to see how this one does in the desert. It's related to blanket flower, but it's probably not quite as extremely drought tolerant or maybe it is.

Low Plants For Dry Areas
I really like the ajuga! The only problem is that it prefers acidic soil and the soil around Trona is alkaline.
