OOPS! Cops raid man’s home as they mistakes okra for weed
Are law enforcement officers really this stupid? How could anyone possibly be so incredibly dumb? Do they reject applicants who are not severely cognitively impaired or what?

Cops' 400 Pot Plants Turn Out to Be Horsemint :smack:
For christsake it smells like freaking mint!!! I'm sure the kid who called in this tip was delighted to see all the braindead cops chopping down all the plants in the park. Great prank to play on morons too stupid to tell the difference between mint and marijuana! It just don't get any stupider than this folks!
A "teen riding his bike through Waldron Park" gave the Corpus Christi police a call on Friday night to alert them to all the marijuana plants that were growing there. And the police, ever the responsive, civic-minded public servants, showed up very quickly and "hauled away 300-400 medium-sized plants...

Kid Suspended For Stupidest Reason Possible :wtf:
You'd think that educators would be educated enough to know the difference between an actual marijuana leaf and a leaf that merely looks similar to a marijuana leaf. It seems like a simple thing to ask and the failure of school officials in this case should lead to them immediately being releaved of their jobs, plus the kid's parents should sue the fuck out of the school.

surfsteve: That's a really beautiful plant. According to an info page I looked at it can grow to five or six feet tall and it makes a really nice indoor house plant. Might want to keep that one away from the windows though since if the neighbors see it they might report you to the police and then a drug raid will follow! Law enforcement officers should be better trained and neighbors should not be nosy!

My old horticulture teacher back in the 70's got into all kinds of trouble. It seems a few of the students went around regularly planting marijuana seeds throughout the greenhouse. Every morning before class the teacher claimed he would inspect the greenhouse for sprouts and pull them. One time someone managed to let one get to be 6 inches by concealing it in a hanging basket above everyone's heads. Somehow the 6 inches turned into 6 feet and a rumor got started that there were 6 foot tall marijuana plants growing in the greenhouse. I remember one of the parents bringing the principal in to show him. It turned out to be the false aralia.

It's pretty ridiculous when a slightly exotic backyard or house plant can result in your house being swatted! It doesn't take a degree in botany for someone to tell the difference between any of these plants. They may look somewhat similar, but any person with reasonable intelligence can easily tell the difference between them. Seriously, are law enforcement officers really that dumb or are they just looking for excuses to send in the SWAT team?
