tronagirl: The idea that weeds are more nutritious than veggies purchased at the store is highly suspect. Not saying that it can't be true, but it sounds more like an idea inspired by some kind of ideology than something backed by facts.

My understanding is that wild plants are likely to be less nutritious than farm grown plants. Plants which have been cultivated for centuries tend to not have the toxins which wild plants often have and so they digest better and are as a result more nutritious. Also in general they taste a lot better!

Living off the land is over-rated. Back in the hippie days they tried to make is seem like a good thing, but it's really kind of dumb.

whiskeypete: That's right. I've heard that most of the hippies are extinct. However, nowadays we have preppers, survivalists, and that bushcraft stuff.

Some of these I have not seen, but most are common in the northern hemisphere.
