How To Choose High-Elevation Plants
Gardening at high-elevations is a bit different from desert gardening and both are different from gardening along the coast. Different environments call for different plant choices. Anyone know some good plants for the 6500-7000 foot range?

Growing Lavender in Colorado
I recommend English lavender, but stay away from the French and Spanish varieties for higher elevations since they can't handle cold temperatures.

These are supposed to be hardy in Zone 5 and a couple require very little water.

Ground cover plants for under trees
Some of these might be useful: Epimedium, Tiarella, Corydalis, Dicentra and Brunnera.

Here are some more ideas: Pachysandra, English Ivy, Periwinkle (Vinca minor), Variegated Vinca, Liriope, Yellow Stonecrop Sedum.
