tronagirl: I'm not sure where the people who you talked to got that story from, but it's not likely that any governmental agency would shoot coyotes. The public backlash would be too much of a public relations hassle. In these politically correct times it's not enough to be efficient, it is also necessary to consider how the public will react. It's costly and it takes a lot of time, but it's how things are done nowadays for worse or even worse. The only time an animal can be destroyed is if it has actually attacked a human. Otherwise, it's not likely that lethal action will be taken even if that would be the most prudent course to take.
