If it's not about plants, but it is about the natural environment of Death Valley, then this is the place to post your info or question.

Has the Endangered Species Act been successful?
Once they're extinct there's no bringing them back and so of course we should do everything we can to protect them!

CoolChick: You are absolutely right and that's why wilderness preservation is so incredibly important. We need to keep every species of all plants and animals alive and that requires lots of habitat. Setting aside large areas of land as wilderness is absolutely necessary.

Why US forests growing farther apart is bad news
Deforestation is reducing habitat for wildlife. Populations are becoming isolated. Conservation efforts are necessary to keep the problem from becoming even worse.

The pythons are killing off native animals and so the pythons gotta go!

San Diegans asked to help track African giraffe
You can help track wild giraffes in Africa from your phone! This is quite intriguing and innovative!

Sierra residents warned to stay away from foraging bears
Not a problem in the desert, but it's still a good idea to keep trash out of the reach of animals.

Raccoons causing chaos in family's home
I never realized that raccoons would be likely to cause so much damage.

Boy snuck a lizard into U.S. and now they've taken over
Sometimes non-native species do quite well in a new location. Locally chukar, tumbleweed, and donkeys are good examples.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Bears love apples too
That's a lot of weight for that poor little apple tree to bear!
