BoraxBill and sandman: I agree with both of you. Not only do SHTF, prepper, and survivalist YouTube channels seem to be run by paranoid individuals, it seems like every time there's something out of the ordinary that happens they jump on the end of the world soapbox in hopes of getting more attention!

Homestead Channels you should AVOID
There is a lot of fear-mongering and emotional manipulation on YouTube. There are also people trying to protect their turf. What this guy is doing is hard to say....

RED ALERT: Share this EVERYWHERE
I'm surprised YouTube allows videos like this. Videos like this could cause mass panic and mass panic can lead to a real disaster even when there was nothing to panic over to begin with.

How Many 5 Gallon Buckets Of Rice For 1 Year Of Long Term Food Storage?
$500 for a year's worth of food ain't bad, but it's not like it's going to taste very good unless you buy more stuff to go with it.

Hope For The Best, Prepare For The Worst
Most people prepare for possible difficult situations. That's why we have insurance, roadside assistance, savings accounts, etc. Some people take it a step further and keep a couple month's worth of food in the house at all times. Preppers not only have a year's supply of food and other items on hand, but they even have plans for self-sufficiency across all aspects of life. Maybe that's going too far, but if the SHTF it'll be a genius move!

Why are some Americans prepping for a doomsday?
There are varying degrees of preparedness. Some take it to an extreme.
