Twitter Sues The U.S. Government Over Transparency Law
It's clear and obvious that our government is engaging in illegal activity which is in clear violation of the Constitution. It's good to see a private company fighting against this injustice, but the problem is that most major corporations are in full support of the government... or actually the NSA is not so much run by the government, but is just an extension of our puppet government which is run by major corporations. If the government were actually interested in the will of the people, this kind of thing would never happen in the first place.

Net Neutrality is Non-Partisan (Thanks, Porn Stars!)
It's bad enough that the USA has the poorest performing internet of any developed country, but on top of that now they want to give corporate websites priority over small websites. The internet was pretty cool until corporations started infiltrating it. The internet would be so much better if video ads and pop up advertising were banned.

I use Firefox and have the video download add on. Whenever a video slows down or gets choppy I can download it to watch it later all in one piece.

Trolls Banned From New Zealand :curse:
This is just another attack on internet freedom. There are more than enough laws to protect people from harmful speech and there is absolutely no need for any more. Expanding the definition of what can be considered harmful speech is the last thing we need. Our freedoms are already far too restricted as it is!

EFF Defends What’s Her Face? From Facebook :wtf:
This is an excellent example of an inappropriate take down request. Companies should only make such requests when the requests are legally justified and should be held liable for any requests which are not solidly and 100% backed by the law. Free speech should be considered a priority over intellectual property rights and in any case Facebook is not in any way damaged by the site in question here and so intellectual property rights are irrelevant in this case.
When it launched, whatsherface-book.com allowed visitors to play an interactive game where they viewed randomly selected photographs of their own Facebook friends and attempted to name these people from memory. In addition to the quiz, the website included aggregate data and analysis. (This data showed that people recognize only 72% of their Facebook friends.) The site recommended that users preserve their privacy by “unfriending” people that they do not really know.

The Not-Very-Clear-Cut World Of Ads And Ad-Blocking - Newsy
The host in this video makes it seem as if there's something ethically questionable about ad-blocking. Let me be very clear on this: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH BLOCKING ADS. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

We'd Get Unprecedented Internet Privacy Under This New FCC Proposal
This will possibly (hopefully) be a move in the right direction.

Tor Network Hosts in Seattle Get Police Harassment
Pure harassment intended to discourage people from facilitating the TOR network. The government, plain and simple, should not be able to monitor the internet activity of individual citizens, end of story. They should also not be able to access any records which would reveal any info about such activity either. It's a simple privacy issue and that's the only issue relevant here. All the BS about facilitating criminal activity is just a smoke screen to trick airheads into giving up their right to privacy.
