Google-Designed Android Chips Make A Whole Lot Of Sense :pac:
Chips made specifically to support the OS probably is the best way to go. It will solve the "fragmentation" problem.

Why Graham Nash doesn't like smartphone photos
He makes some good points, but the cameras on smartphones are handy for a lot of things even if they don't produce photos of professional quality.
