COPPA is a good example of a completely unnecessary law that was made by stupid people with good intentions. A lot of the laws in the USA are like that. It's funny that there are still some laws which we don't have which are seriously needed and yet we have thousands of laws which serve no purpose whatsoever other that to keep braindead bureaucrats busy!

The leader of The Young Turks has done a lot to make himself look stupid and now he wants to be a California congressman. For some reason I'm pretty sure COPPA doesn't apply to him, but it probably should.

COPPA was created in 1998. Applying ideas from back then to the way things are now doesn't really work. COPPA doesn't really fit the present reality. Maybe the whole thing needs to be scrapped and reconsidered.
