If it's not about plants, but it is about the natural environment of Death Valley, then this is the place to post your info or question.

Trump Implies He Will Use An Executive Order To End The California Drought

Efforts to protect the endangered fish from further decline have focused on limiting or modifying the large-scale pumping activities of state and federal water projects at the southern end of the estuary thereby limiting water available to farming. However, these efforts have not prevented the species from becoming functionally extinct in the wild.

A survey in April 2015 found only one individual delta smelt.

Can Seawater Fix California’s Drought?
Lots of options, but none of them are inexpensive. What's a drought-stricken state to do?

Ski resorts hope early snowfall brings strong ski season
Early snow doesn't necessarily translate to a lot of snow, but we can keep our fingers crossed.

California trees dying at 'unprecedented' rate
Harsh reality: Trees need water to survive.

Wrightwood Is Already Having A White Chrismtas
Snow down in the Wrightwood area is good news. Hopefully it will be resupplied in weeks to come, but not too much at a time.

California, Nevada pounded by floods, mudslides
This is some serious precipitation! The drought may not officially be over, but a few more storms like this and we'll have a year way above normal! Unfortunately, the historic "Tunnel Tree" fell during this latest storm.

Drought over? Even if this is a year with record rainfall they'll still insist that the drought is still on. It will take three above average years in a row before they'll admit that the drought is over. They may loosen water restrictions after a good year, but they won't lift them until the drought is long gone.

If we look further than our porch we see it will take years to fill the reservoirs to get close to pre drought levels. It took 17 years to fill Lake Powell alone and all the reservoirs are at record levels. If what we see at present time is a spike and we go back waterless years it gets worse.

Sparky. Yes we have a drought but it's being intensified by environmental regulations. I realize all of the effects from the drought are not over and will take years of rain to solve. I was actually referring to Donald Trump's promise to help alleviate the effects due to California insanely dumping half it's fresh water directly out to sea in a feeble attempt to protect a few Delta Smelt over the welfare of millions of human beings.
