Make a SPRINKLER from an old POOL NOODLE
So this isn't exactly conveniently detachable, but it is kind of a cute idea.

Autumn is here and so it's time to plant flower bulbs if you want some showy flowers in the spring. Daffodils, tulips, crocuses, gladiolas, irises, you name it. Plant them now for some spring color!

It doesn't take much of an excuse to avoid doing yard work and so it looks like one less chore that needs to get done!

How to check if your tree is dead, dying
Conditions in Sacramento are quite different from those in Trona, but some of these tips may nevertheless be helpful.

Vinegar? Who knew? Actually, I've heard of a few of these, but some of them I have not yet tried. Thanks Shady for the tips!

Makes sense with our alkaline soil that it would be good out here however I am highly dubious about how well vinegar would work for keeping out pests. I think borax would work much better for ants. I used to use Amdro for ants. A little of that stuff goes a long way. So glad they don't have fire ants around here though I'm also very surprised. We had them all over Florida. They were very smart. If you poured Amdro on their nest they would recognize it as poison and carry it off and only a few of them would die. But if you scattered it in the general area away from the nest they would forage and bring it back and share it with the others as if it were some kind of drug which would wipe out the whole colony.
Make Trona great again!

Vinegar might be a useful substance, but it doesn't work miracles. When I tried it on ants, it had no effect at all. They didn't even seem to notice it. Maybe desert ants are just tougher than ordinary ants.
