Mountain Lion Successfully Crosses To Other Side Of 405 Freeway In Sepulveda Pass
Many mountain lions are trapped by freeways, limiting their range. One problem is that such isolation has resulted in inbreeding.

Hiker Attacked by Bison on Antelope Island
This happened in Utah and the previous video was from Colorado. Apparently bison get a little agitated during mating season also. Must be the testosterone. And people say PMS is bad. Apparently males can be swept away into crazyland by hormones too.

Warning About Getting Too Close to Wild Animals After Elk Attack
The zoom on most cameras is pretty good. Maybe people should try using that instead of getting too close to wild animals. Just a thought....

Cocktail Of Rat Poisons Linked To Mountain Lions Found Dead In Santa Monica Mountains
While some residents in the area probably are saddened by the loss of these big cats, others probably see it as a good thing.

Pikas linked to Utah weather pattern?
Interesting info about this small mammal which is related to rabbits and which gathers large mounds of food for the winter.

What to expect if you encounter a wolf
BEST COMMENT:
I’ve had similar encounters with squirrels. The trick is to stay calm.

CWD - Chronic Wasting Disease
http://cwd-info.org/faq/
Though many observers try to compare CWD with “mad cow disease”, the diseases are distinctly different. Currently, there is no evidence that CWD poses a risk for humans; however, public health officials recommend that human exposure to the CWD infectious agent be avoided as they continue to evaluate any potential health risk.

I found this on the blackturtle.us South Sierra Plants website. It's either an ecological disaster or a bacon lover's wet dream. Could be a major porkfest!
